Silver is a sculpture made by Olie Sylvester in 2022. Made of a sculpted stone with a signed and dated green felt bottom, this piece speaks to form in the platonic sense. I am that I am, as it goes. And so this mini monument, by way of its existing in this particular shape, bends light and shadow around itself. The workings of this piece are very quiet then, but nonetheless, there it goes, wrapping a shawl of light and dark around and through itself, expertly, perfectly, and without care or help.
