Peek and Boo are two pipe tampers born from the back of the same lesser demon. It takes months, if not years, to even bid on the rights to demon vertebrae, and in this case, I scored a deal on two and only two, along with a few other items you’ll see later. Legend has it that our common game of peek a boo comes from very dark beginnings of a word that sounded much like peek a boo, but was most definitely something else. I think it may be poetic justice that we’re turning darkness to whimsy in this instance with these two fine vertebrae specimens. And to turn things further on their ear, please note: the tamp end is the rounded wooden tip, not the brass casing. Many moons ago I met up with a fellow who had very specific ideas on tamping. He would never tamp burning tobacco with a flat end. It had to be at least mostly rounded, like Peek and Boo. These two tampers (sold separately) are an homage to the very specific needs of that gentleman, who I dare not name, lest you know the sorts I bump in to in my dealings.
